Puma are this week launching a fresh new colour update to the evoSPEED 1.3, in the form of the Puma evoSPEED 1.3 Hawaiian Ocean. And I have to say: Boy, it does look gorgeous, definitely one of the best evoSPEED colourways released since the evoSPEED 1.
Puma’s branding (the formstripe and oversized PUMA hit) are both in white, whilst the sockliner and soleplate are black.
Examples of evoSPEED players include Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao, and Atletico Madrid’s Antoinne Griezmann. However, because of the intense rivalry between the two Manchester giants, I do not think that it is a good idea for Falcao to wear the boots, while for Aguero, the boot will match City’s home kit perfectly.
For the technical side of the boot, a lightweight, flexible microfibre upper gives superb feel for the ball, amplified by PUMA’s impressive 3D Griptex finish, which boosts control in wet weather.
The soleplate consists of 12 conical studs, that enable quick release and entrance into the ground, and also rotational freedom when it comes to quick turns and sharp cuts, which all speedy players are almost always doing.
A Speedtrack stability system works with the external everFIT cage to lock in foot towards the heel and midfoot, whilst a DuoFlex system under the toes means players never feel hampered by a stiff soleplate.
